How long does it take to get financial aid?

Once you complete your FAFSA, you can generally expect the following timeline of events:

1. It takes up to 10 business days before we get your application
2. One-third of students get selected for further verification and must submit additional information before their file is complete
3. Once all documents are received and your file is complete, it takes upwards of 4-6 weeks for financial aid to be awarded

It is important to stay on top of any correspondence you receive regarding your financial aid so as to not cause delays in processing. Students should monitor their progress through the Student Self-Service button in their MyMc3 Student Portal.
